After being adopted this past Summer, Sophie was returned to us at no fault of her own. She was just getting comfortable with her new family, and sadly had to change homes once again. It's a good thing Sophie adjusts rather quickly in a new household though. She craves human affection and is very curious to see what’s happening in a room she’s not in. She loves being a couch potato with you in her downtime, and getting some chin scratches and belly rubs, just purring away. She will meow at you, rub on your legs, and walk across your keyboard, nudging her head into your hands when she wants your attention. She's so sweet! One of her other favorite things to do is sit in a big window or even watch Cat TV on Youtube and follow all of the animals on the screen. While Sophie does quickly become friends with her humans, it takes her a bit longer to warm up to meeting new cats. After a few days, she’s more confident around them. Ideally, we would like Sophie to be adopted in pairs with one of her current kitty friends that she’s already comfortable with to help her ease into a new home; however, it’s not a must. Once she realizes new cats aren’t a threat, she enjoys a good cuddle puddle and sharing her toys with them! She’s a very playful girl and is easily entertained with a good game of tag with her kitty friends or playing with her toys. Sophie tolerates being held by you, but would rather have all paws on a surface while you’re giving her attention as it makes her feel more secure. Because of this, we feel that she would do best in an adult-only home, or a home with older, respectful cat-savvy children over 10. Sophie does really well meeting small friendly dogs, but we are unsure how she would do with larger dogs at this time.
Sophie was surrendered to us in May 2023 by a woman who originally rescued her from outdoors when she was just 18 days old.
