Sophie may be petite, but she has a very strong personality! She likes to be involved in everything you do, is extremely smart, doesn't like not getting her way, and "aggressively" bumps her head into your face (her way of telling you to pay attention to her and give her kisses). She shows interest in human affection for majority of her day, and is always curious to see what’s happening in a room she’s not in. She will meow at you, rub on your legs, and walk across your keyboard while you're working or force herself onto your lap while you're reading a book. She'll even nudge her head into your hands for some pets.. she is very affectionate! When Sophie plays though, she likes to play rough, so she does best with a kitty friend who can keep up with her. After she's done scrapping with the boys and wrapping herself around your arm, using it as a kicker toy, she'll give that same arm a kiss and snuggle up on your chest. She tolerates being held for a short amount of time, but lets you know when enough is enough. She is sometimes most-relatable to a Sour Patch Kid candy - sour, then sweet! Some of Sophie's other favorite things to do is to pick on the other cats, sprawl out in her hammock bed, and watch Cat TV on Youtube and follow all of the animals on the screen. While she quickly becomes friends with her humans, it does take her a bit longer to warm up to meeting new cats. Ideally, we would like Sophie to be adopted in pairs with one of her current kitty friends that she’s already comfortable with to help her ease into a new home; however, it’s not a must. She does okay with any other confident cats and would do best in a home with at least one kitty playmate. We have found that Sophie actually adores dogs once she gets to know them, though - she tries to befriend and cuddle up with them! Because of her big personality though, we feel that she would do best in an adult-only home or a home with respectful cat-savvy children over 12. She would prefer a less active environment, but she certainly brings enough excitement herself!
Sophie was surrendered to us by a woman who originally rescued her from outdoors when she was just 18 days old.
