Prairie raised 5 kittens of her own when she first came to the rescue, and is now ready to settle down with someone. She had a rough start to her life and strongly believe she was a victim to abuse, so she needs a person who understands her and will be patient with her. She's an independent, quirky girl with a big diva personality. She typically likes to just do her own thing and prefers she gets her way 100% of the time. She's vocal when she wants something and is always curious to see what's behind a closed door. Prairie loves to play with her favorite interactive toys and burn off her kitten-like energy late at night when she gets the zoomies. She does like gentle human affection, but only on her terms as she can get overstimulated easily and will let you know when she's had enough. She does not like her limits to be pushed, so we would prefer her adopter be cat-experienced. Her favorite treats are lickable squeeze tubes - they're simply irresistible! We think she would appreciate a less active home, but one that also has lots of fun toys for her to play with. Prairie does not like to share her home with other cats; however, she does coexist with other independent, laid-back adult cats, as long as they keep their space from her. She would do okay in a home with respectful cat-savvy children 12+, and does well with calm, friendly dogs.
Prairie was taken in by KCCR after she and her kittens were posted for free on Facebook.
